History

Mountain Pointe Camp and Conference Center (also known as "Bethel in the Hills" camp), has served as a retreat location for many groups and events over the years. From large family reunions; college retreats and trainings; men’s retreats, women’s retreats, adult camps, youth camps, kids camps, specialized events and even a movie location – all have a place here at this beautiful retreat! The memories made by those who have attended and camped here are too many to count. We want that tradition to continue with you and your event.

Early leaders and innovators of youth camps and retreats, led by Dr. Cecil Pool, saw the need for a location to serve youth in the Southern California area. Their vision was set in motion with the purchase of the property located in Cuddy Valley, high above Frazier Park, California (5,600 ft elevation). Their vision continues 70 years later at this beautiful mountainside campus.

“Bethel in the Hills” means sacred place in the hills – a very fitting description to the history and atmosphere cultivated and nurtured here. You can join the many thousands who have gotten away from the speed and pressures of life and found peace and serene beauty here – making memories to add to the history of the camp.

The camp has a wonderful history and the camp management has committed to maintain standards of excellence for the facilities and amenities, and an obvious commitment to maintenance as this wonderful story continues for many more years.
